Meetings management platform Cvent this
week announced the top meetings destinations and hotels in Europe, North
America, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Latin America and the Caribbean
based on search and sourcing activity tied to a record $20 billion in event
volume placed through the platform last year.
In North America, Orlando claimed the top
spot for meetings destinations for the 11th consecutive year, followed by Las
Vegas in second place and Nashville, which jumped to third place, displacing
Chicago which fell to fourth position. Dallas, Atlanta and San Diego followed,
while New York City surged ahead four spots to break into this year’s top 10 in
eighth place. Austin climbed two spots to ninth place and Washington came in at
number 10.
JW Marriott Austin was named as the top
meeting hotel in North America, followed by the Gaylord Rockies Resort &
Convention Center and The Venetian Resort Las Vegas in second and
third place, respectively. The Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention
Center in Nashville and the Fontainebleau Las Vegas completed the top
five.
Additionally, Wynn and Encore Las Vegas
secured seventh place, while the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center
ranked ninth. According to Cvent, the strong showing from both the Gaylord
portfolio and multiple Las Vegas properties highlights a “growing premium”
placed on destinations and brands that can reliably support large, complex
events at scale.
