Business group travel insurance provider Core Travel Insurance has launched a new digital platform to manage group coverage and give individual travelers the opportunity to add their own additional coverage, the company announced.
Core Travel built the platform with open-source tool for insurance applications Openkoda, and it has unified portals for brokers, travelers, clients and policy management. The company offers an insurance product that provides emergency medical and trip protection coverage for a group of travelers, and individuals can upgrade their own coverage with higher limits and enhanced coverage for lost luggage, travel delays and trip extensions.
The new platform integrates with travel assistance providers and third-party administrators via APIs, and travelers can log on to see their coverage and add additional coverage if they wish. The extra coverage can be purchased with a few clicks, and costs are calculated based on travelers' itineraries, according to the company.
The platform had a "smooth migration of our existing clients," Core Travel CEO Fiona Lally said in a statement. "With Openkoda, we've gone from implementation to production in only eight weeks."
